Dialogue Requirements for Argumentation Systems
نویسندگان
چکیده
We consider the requirements of an ideal automated argumen-tation system designed to model human interactions and compare them with the capabilities of our argumentation system, NAG. We ground our discussion with a description of NAG's architecture, particularly emphasizing NAG's knowledge representation scheme, which supports the consideration of domain and user model information as well as contextual information when reasoning about arguments.

Modeling Lateral Communication in Holonic Multi Agent Systems
Agents, in a multi agent system, communicate with each other through the process of exchanging messages which is called dialogue. Multi agent organization is generally used to optimize agents’ communications. Holonic organization demonstrates a self-similar recursive and hierarchical structure in which each holon may include some other holons. In a holonic system, lateral communication occurs b...
متن کاملEliciting Requirements for an Argumentation Interchange Format
Argumentation Mark-up Languages have been formulated for exporting and storing argumentation knowledge described by use of argument editing and visualisation tools. These tools enable user structuring of arguments through diagramatic linkage of natural language sentences. Recent work has focussed on implementations of formal logical models of argument inference, and argumentation based decision...
متن کاملLearning Dialogue Systems
This paper is predominantly theoretic, and addresses the question of naturalness in dialogue systems. It sketches requirements for ambitious 21-century dialogue systems, and argues that the biggest problem in making dialogue systems flexible, robust and natural is the knowledge acquisition problem. The more complex tasks the dialogue system is expected to cope with, the more complex knowledge i...
متن کاملDynamic Rule Mining for Argumentation Based Systems
Argumentation has proved to be a very influential reasoning mechanism particularly in the context of multi agent systems. In this paper we introduce PADUA (Protocol for Argumentation Dialogue Using Association Rules), a novel argumentation formalism that dynamically mines Association Rules (ARs) from the case background as a means to: (i) generate the arguments exchanged among dialogue particip...
متن کاملArgumentation in the Framework of Deliberation Dialogue
According to argumentation theory, reasoning takes place in different types of dialogue: persuasion dialogue, negotiation, deliberation, information-seeking dialogue, inquiry, and eristic dialogue. These different dialogue types may be nested within one another. Current research in artificial intelligence is building formal models corresponding to each of these types of dialogue and showing how...
